The annual Brookfield Show is one of the major events for the south-west of the Ryan electorate. It is billed as 'the biggest little country show around' and attracts people from greater Brisbane, Ipswich and Somerset. It is a great opportunity to talk about Greens politics to a diverse audience - even though the location is regarded by the LNP as their heartland. The show is held over 3 days but to date we have only had a presence on one day. The organisers (which include LNP members) forbid us from approaching people, which limits what we can do.
In 2026 the Ryan EO is using the stall to test out the new Australian Greens national Tax the 1% campaign.
This volunteer gig is best suited to volunteers who love to chat to people about Greens voters. If you've attended a briefing on the Tax the 1% campaign, that's great, but all volunteers will be briefed on the day.
