Childcare is critical to women’s employment. This, in turn, drives economic growth, boosts financial security and improves social and health outcomes for women and families. It’s time to recognise childcare as an essential service available to anyone who needs it, not just those who can afford it.
The Greens will make permanent the pandemic-era shift to free childcare for all, and ensure that services are properly funded to deliver world-class education and strong conditions for workers.
