Tax Gas Corporations

Gas corporations have been making record profits selling Australian gas to overseas markets. But they are paying hardly any tax. Major gas corporation Santos has posted $47 billion in revenue over the last ten years, but paid $0 in corporate tax. More than half of our gas is exported completely royalty-free.

With a modest 25% tax on the export revenue of gas companies, we could raise $17 billion to fund essential services and cost of living relief.

With community and political pressure mounting, now is the time to raise our voices and make change.

Please sign my petition calling on the Australian government to implement a 25% tax on the export revenue of gas companies in Australia.

To the Hon. Jim Chalmers MP, Treasurer of Australia,

We, the undersigned, call on the Australian government to implement a 25% tax on the export revenue of gas companies in Australia. This would raise $17 billion a year to fund essential services and cost of living relief.

These are our resources, and we should be getting our fair share from them.
