Dear neighbour,
As our region continues to grow rapidly, I’m often told that residents feel they are losing a sense of connection with their community. That’s why I have created the Community Meals project – an opportunity for locals to come together and share a free meal, lovingly prepared by our wonderful volunteers.
Mitchelton is a vibrant suburb also undergoing change, so I decided it was time to host a Community Meal in the area. This will be a chance to hear about what is affecting residents while we enjoy some delicious food together. I have engaged with residents about concerns regarding the Kooya Road Development site, and I would like to continue this conversation and discuss the latest updates on the current application.
I have chosen the beautiful Lockrose Street Park as our venue, as I know it is a place where locals like to meet. We will also be joined by Elizabeth McAulay - Greens Candidate for Ferny Grove. We will have sausages for kids and vegetarian meal options available. To reduce waste, we encourage you to bring your own plates and cutlery, although we will have spares as well. Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to tell your friends.
We hope to see you there,
Elizabeth Watson-Brown
