We all know that Moggill Rd traffic is a nightmare, but despite the 444 and 443 services doing a lot of heavy lifting, they are not frequent enough at the right times and don’t extend far enough, so many people who would otherwise catch them are hopping in their car making traffic worse.
Labor and the LNP have neglected public transport for Moggill Rd and people’s commute times have suffered. This is despite the State Government posting a $12 billion surplus last year.
That’s why I’ve kicked off a petition to upgrade the 444 and 443. The petition calls on the State government and Brisbane City Council to work together to:
- Extend the 444 to Moggill Sports Park and on to Anstead and Karana Downs
- Expand the peak window for the outbound 444 to begin at 2pm, so the bus runs every 10 minutes for the real peak period
- Improve the timetable of P443 by running services from 5.30-8.30am in the morning and from 4.00-6.30pm in the afternoon, and increasing frequency during the peak hours (6.30-7.30am and 5.00-6.00pm) to 5 minutes, and running the remainder at 10 minute intervals
If you live along the 444 and 443 routes, please consider signing this petition and helping me win these simple and affordable, but impactful, changes.
