Right now, 1 in 3 of Australia’s largest companies pay zero tax and the government gives public money in the form of tax bailouts to private companies, including big polluters.
The Greens’ plans are fully costed by the Parliamentary Budget Office and paid for by shifting the tax burden and closing loopholes. We will crack down on multinational tax avoidance, put in place a new Corporate Super-Profits Tax on big corporations, and introduce an annual 6% wealth tax on Australia’s billionaires. While still keeping our tax-to-GDP ratio below the average for advanced economies.
