Too many of our community services are for-profit instead of for-people. As a result, corners are cut, wages and conditions for staff are reduced, and people don’t get the care they need. During the pandemic, we have seen how market failure in private service delivery can be a disaster.
The LNP government have wasted billions on expensive consultants and contractors, run by big corporations. Paying private consultants, contractors, and labour-hire to do the same work that public servants used to do is more expensive, less efficient, and ignores long term needs.
The Greens will fund our public services properly so that everyone can get a place in public healthcare, aged care, childcare, and education when they want one.
