Over recent decades, Australia’s manufacturing industry has gone offshore. However, no country is better placed than Australia to secure our economic future by building the clean energy economy.
The Greens see Queensland at the heart of this transition. We will invest to power the manufacture of green steel in Gladstone, produce renewable energy components in Townsville and Rockhampton, and support miners as the world moves away from thermal coal and towards the burgeoning critical minerals sector.
Businesses all over Queensland will service these new industries and create well-paid jobs for many more.
