I hold a pop-up office somewhere in Ryan every month to make it easier for you - the people I represent - to raise issues and concerns with me first-hand.
Pop-up offices are a great, informal way to raise concerns with me, so my team can follow up. Sometimes issues raised at pop-up offices lead to mini-campaigns, like the campaign to make sure all of Ryan gets an NBN upgrade, or speeches in parliament.
Residents who came to my Community BBQ for The Gap Bowl told me the area also needs a community centre, and a space for groups like Repair Café and The Gap Sustainability Initiative to meet, as well as more affordable housing.
Most people from The Gap who’ve responded to The Ryan Transport Survey have said they don’t feel safe cycling there. Residents also raised concerns about unsafe crossings and poor visibility.
No matter whether you want to talk about a personal difficulty you're having, a local issue in the community, or a big picture political issue, you are most welcome to come along! There's no need to RSVP.
I look forward to meeting you and fighting alongside you to create the community you want.
