Unlike Labor and the LNP, the Greens aren't funded by big corporations and billionaires. That's why we can push for real integrity in our political system.
Billionaire Gina Rinehart donated $500,000 to the LNP last year and gave Peter Dutton flights on her private jet. Meanwhile, coal, oil and gas corporations donated $3.2 million to the LNP and $2.2 million to Labor in the last 3 years.
With the Greens on a strong crossbench in parliament, we'll push to:
- Ban dirty political donations from the fossil fuel industry, property developers, tobacco, the big banks and other dirty industries.
- Ban cash-for-access meetings with politicians, and stop Ministers and their staff from becoming industry lobbyists.
- Increase transparency in lobbying by requiring Ministers to publish meeting diaries.
- Introduce truth in political advertising laws to restore trust in our elections.
Our policies are fully costed by the independent Parliamentary Budget Office, and would be funded by making billionaires and big corporations pay their fair share in tax.
